Wonderful!

Cuis also "just works" on a PinePhone
(https://www.pine64.org/pinephone/)

I have also gotten Cuis up without a window system on Linux (Raspberry
Pi 3 with Raspberry Pi OS; Raspberry Pi 3 & 4 with Alpine Linux;
LePotato with Armbian Linux).

There is a fix to vm-display-fbdev (the FrameBuffer display option)
which has not yet been integrated for rebinding /dev/input/event?
devices, so let me know if you need this. The default bindings may work
already.

I particularly line Alpine Linux, which was developed for routers and
uses MUSL and BusyBox. Very light-weight "shim" OS.

FYI,
