Cuis offers an advanced VectorGraphics engine and Morphic Canvas. BitBlt 
is still there and widely used, but many uses have been replaced by the 
Vector Graphics engine. The same can be said about Pen.

Still, you can take the time to learn about them. Just do not miss the 
newer, more advanced stuff.
