Hi folks,
A few days ago, Cristián Pérez implemented a very nice redesign on how
we version packages. It sully supports semver.org, and we encourage
everybody to follow the ideas there.
The downside is that many packages will fail on install. Cristián and me
already updated all the packages in the Cuis-Smalltalk organization. In
your own packages, the changes needed follow this pattern:
!provides: 'Cryptography-DigitalSignatures' 1 16!
!requires: 'Sound' 1 3 nil!
!requires: 'Cuis-Base' 6 3 nil!
---------->
!provides: 'Cryptography-DigitalSignatures' '1.16.0'!
!requires: 'Sound' '1.3.0' '1.*.*'!
!requires: 'Cuis-Base' '7.9.8257' '7.*.*'!
Please adjust the "provides" and "requires" specs as shown above. It can
be done by editing the .pck.st files in Cuis FileList, or any text editor.
Apologies for the inconvenience. We have already updated all the
packages in the Cuis-Smalltalk github organization.
We believe the better design is worth this small trouble.
Thanks!
