Entity-Relationship modelling is also widespread in database usage.

Given the over-usage/over-definition of "Object" these days, a change in 
terminology may shift the viewpoint a bit for the better.

Many Object Based languages fail to be Object Oriented in the way that 
Smalltalk is.
