We hope that Spacewars! is a good first project.  After TheCuisBook, 
there are a couple of tutorials in Learning-Cuis which should help.

Ir would be useful to have a keyboard to type with.  I am able to run 
Cuis on a PinePhone with an attached keyboard, also on a Raspberry Pi, 
and my wife uses Cuis on an iMac.  An iPad should work.

In the worst case, you can buy a RaspBerry Pi 4, a PineBook Pro, or some 
used computer for very little money.
