Whatever happened to the cypress/filetree format? Cross dialect
cooperation was what this file format was *for*.
On the other hand, I'm extremely excited to see all the movement in this
area. My initial idea was to use one of the MIT forks of Little
Smalltalk and some PD Smallworld code to build a very simple Smalltalk
using only a C compiler and use the resultant system to build higher
level stuff. Alas, I am *extremely* slow at getting things done so I'm
happy to see I won't need to do it myself. :)
BTW, http://bootstrappable.org/ is a project to be able to build a full
C toolchain from nothing but source code and a < 300 byte hand made
binary. Being able to piggyback on that would be good.
