[Cuis-dev] Hello, new Cuis smalltalk user here!

I Made a little video demonstrating what i am talking about. I didn't mention it in the video, but typing and scrolling in the modified image with Juans stuff is smooth, its just the windows acting up. The stock image has a bit of input lag and scrolling also displays some latency. Im just trying to make sure im not doing anything wrong or this is just to be expected. Let me make it clear i am in no way complaining, The work that has been done is amazing and am appreciative of being able to use this for free. Anyways, here's the video:

Cuis, even with the commands Juan shared with me, still has lag when I'm moving windows around, don't know what vector graphics are going to look like since I haven't made it that far in the book. Maybe Cuis doesn't play nice with arm processor's?

As I am a novice to both smalltalk and programming, the book has been valuable in showing me what a urnary , binary and keyword message is. And I'm sure there is more for me to learn. I'm taking it slow because I rushed through the book once and completely got confused. So I'm Reading, understanding, and then exploring. I can't wait till I get to the stage where I have made my first fully fledged program.

I'm pretty sure that none of the open source options out there, despite their claims, *really* offers 100% Blue Book compatibility. Cuis (and Squeak) probably offer reasonable to very good compatibility through chapter 16. There may be some differences here and there, but this is pretty core stuff that I don't believe has changed much. Chapter 17 on is mostly going to be very different and not something you're likely to find in today's implementations. Conceptually, most of the functionality still exists but when Squeak moved to Morphic most things got renamed/restructured/rethought. In the 25 years since, things have continued to evolve even further away from those later chapters in the book.

I understand Cuis is supposed to be close to smalltalk-80 (which I like due to simplicity), but the reason I ask this question, is, could one read "the blue book" to learn Cuis, or is it better to run an original smalltalk-80 VM (like the C++ implementation and the crosstalk bare metal for raspberry pis)?
