has a link to the fundamental paper "Design Principles Behind Smalltalk" 
and other useful links.

I fist learned about Smalltalk in an "Object Oriented Programming" 
course taught by Máximo Prieto at the University of Buenos Aires. After 
that, I got by copy of the "Blue Book": "Smalltalk-80 the language and 
its implementation". "Inside Smalltalk", vol. I and II also helped. As 
studying the system itself, and writing a lot of code.
