Casey,

I think you misunderstood what I was arguing was hopeless to fight... I was
not referring to you!  I was talking about core classes and methods that
are so entrenched and widely used that even proposing changing them would
likely be a non-starter with 99.999% of Smalltalkers. (i.e. I took your
previous comment to mean that you hoped I/we wouldn't be going there and I
was just agreeing... I wouldn't be going there)

I think most of us here are the same in that regard: we have strong
opinions and fight to have them understood.  Nothing you've said in this
thread is even remotely a problem for me... in fact, I agree with almost
all of it except that one tiny bit re: (ad hoc) polymorphism ;-)
